About Shushan

For more than 15 years, I’ve helped organisations turn complex sustainability and transformation ambitions into structured, well-governed, and measurable execution. My work sits at the intersection of strategy, operations and change, where clarity, governance, and disciplined delivery determine whether a vision becomes reality.

Shushan Khachatryan

Originally from Armenia, I moved to the Netherlands in 2012 for an MBA scholarship program. What was meant to be a one-year study program evolved into a long-term professional and personal journey, with the Netherlands becoming my home.

Over the years, I have led multi-country programs across Europe and emerging markets in renewable energy, supply chain decarbonization, electric mobility, sustainable finance, telecommunications, and water systems. I have worked with multicultural teams and delivered large portfolios for organisations including HUAWEI, HEINEKEN, NIO, T-Mobile, Liberty Global, the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank.

In these roles, I’ve often been responsible for designing the governance frameworks, operating models, and delivery structures that turn strategy into coordinated execution and measurable results.
Across all these sectors, my focus has been consistent: bringing order to complexity, aligning diverse teams around shared outcomes, and enabling organisations to execute at scale.

Education & Professional Qualifications

My academic background spans management and international business, starting with Bachelor’s and Master’s studies at the Armenian State University of Economics, complemented by an Erasmus Mundus exchange program at Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, Greece. A Nuffic scholarship later brought me to the Netherlands, where I completed my MBA at The Hague University of Applied Sciences, deepening my interest in transformation and cross-cultural collaboration.

Beyond program leadership, I have always believed in the value of lifelong learning. I’ve hosted and moderated international renewable energy and sustainability events across cities such as Miami, Jakarta, Milan, Amsterdam, and San Francisco, bringing together policymakers, investors, and experts to accelerate shared understanding and progress.

I remain actively involved in the professional community as Project Management Institute (PMI), Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) and as an advisory council for International Business Program at the Hague University of Applied Sciences.
